Hi,

I I have a windows 7 pc home premium I have 16 gigs of memory I have an i7 processor intel 3rd generation I have a gigabyte motherboard ga z77x ud5 h motherboard. I have downloaded the intel chipset drivers from gigabytes website and they installed fine. However now I'm seeing that there are newer ones on intels website. so I downloaded them I put them on the c drive of my ssd drive. and I double clicked on the exe file and the stup screen came on but they chipset software did not install. I went into the device manager and the driver version that I have which I know is older and the new chipset drivers did not install is.... 7-25-13 driver version is 9.3.0.1029 I have system restore turned off. not sure if that is the problem I read that uninstalling intel rapid storage technology would allow me to install the drivers. It did not.Product: Intel(R) Chipset Device Software This is the software that I'm trying to install. I also read that it said to create a short cut on the desktop and then put - overall in the target box after the .exe when I right click on it. I did that and still no go. I checked everything in the device manager and I know it did not install.

Any help would be super!

Thanks Kinnyr90

The newest chipset drivers from Intel as stated in the product description above are for the new 9x series motherboards. Since you have a Z77 Chipset they will not be for your board. Stick with the ones on the Gigabyte site.

Okay I apologize for that, I thought sure they were for my board. If I look for newer ones for my particular chipset. do you have any ideas on why they won't install. Or is it that they will install. They just would not install in this case here because they were the wrong chipset drivers. It never gave me any kind of message stating that when I tried to install these. If I install newer driver software that is comaptable with my chipset. any tricks on what I should do to get them to install properly? Oh Btw I even tried putting them on a flash drive first and that didn't work either.

Thanks

aww... That's Nice thank you. So even when intel comes out with new drivers, they would show up in windows update or does them showing up on windows update just apply to gigabytes chipset drivers? I still wonder though if there are any reasons that Legit chipset drivers for my processor or motherboard wouldn't install. If you have any ideas that would be great!
