Hey all,
I am thinking about upgrading my pc, My current pc specs are :
Acer aspire Dekstop
32 bit system
320 hdd
3 GB ram
512 Mb nvidia 8400 graphic card
Acer Motherboard Aspire series (dont know exact model no.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now i play a lot of HD games & i work on 3d applications as well, which requires a lot of memory & HD graphic rendering, so can anyone help me make a pc in low budget. Also was thinking about upgrading to a 64 bit system with a good graphic card as well !!

!! please help !!
Thanks

Hey..
I have been trying to get as much info as i can before building my gaming pc so, have seen some mobo & other parts online (youtube & other sites) which are not avilable here in my country (INDIA). I dont have a very good budget as i am a student, so i have to save my pocket money (& also get my brother to give me some money) to buy things for my system.
I have an old acer Aspire pc and i was thinking if it is possible to use some of my existing pc parts like :
- intel core 2 quad 2.50GHZ processor
- DVD Writer
- keyboard/mouse
- Monitor (1600* 900 LCD 22")

What i am thinking of buying new is gaming Motherboard...Graphic Card...Gaming Ram...POwer supply...Gaming Cabinet...!!
for mobo any good board that will support any other procesor & other stuff if i upgrade in future..!!

Sorry for too many questions i am newbie !!
thanks

Thank you for the extra information =). I would still like to know your budget though, if I know the budget I can select parts that will benefit you the most !

The Core2Quad is still a pretty decent CPU. I wouldn't focuss on the CPU atm.

Motherboards are divided into sockets. If you "upgrade" your motherboard, and therefore your socket, the Core2Quad probably won't fit anymore =). Therefore I highly recommend you to upgrade them at the same time and not buy 1 first and the other one later on.

The 320GB HDD should not be a problem right now, 320GB isn't much, but should be sufficient for some not very big games (not BF4 as that one will take up +-50GB with all the DLC's etc).

3GB Ram... it isn't much and should be upgraded. Here is the problem though, IF your motherboard does NOT support DDR3 you will have to "upgrade" to 4GB (or more) DDR2. DDR2 RAM isn't worth buying in my opinion as it is more expensive than DDR3 RAM and gives less performance. If your MB supports DDR3 though, 4GB mininum should be sufficient for your setup (Crucial ballistix are cheap and give excellent performance). You can always upgrade to 8GB later on. ---> Could you please name your Motherboard? You will be able to see the name of it with a programm called Speccy if I'm correct (the programm originally is designed to measure your computers temperatures but will also display the names of your components =) <---

The PSU and your GPU should be your first priority. Depending on your budget you will probably have to upgrade both. What is your PSU brand/wattage? Depending on your budget I will try to put something together =).

Your case is your last priority unless it is falling apart. Except for airflow, it will only add something to the looks of the build and not to the performance of it ^^.

Upgrade list:
1. GPU and PSU
2. CPU/MB/RAM
3. Storage/ Operating system.

The 32bit is sufficient for now. A big difference between 32/64 bit is that 32 bit will not let you use more than 3 or 3.2GB (not sure) of RAM. You only have 3GB and therefore shouldn't really suffer from it :p.

PS: HDD and MB don't really "link". The question would be would it fit with your PSU (does the PSU have the required cables). And yes, it most likely will.
