i am currently sport a G& Power Extreme 780 Wat PSU with 2 6 pin connectors, and the graphics card im after, MSI GeForce GTX 760 2gb gaming edition takes a 6 pin and a 8 pin connection, Is it safe to use the 6 pin to 8 pin connector the graphics card comes with itself,

A 750W PSU should have way more than 2 PCIe connecters - I'd expect it to have 4x 6+2pin ones. That's a sign that it's completely unable to deliver the rated power.
I'd strongly suggest replacing it with a decent ~550W one from the second link in my sig.

The computer was made by a friend that does this sort of thing, im pretty sure it has more but its just what i am currently using on my Graphics card, 2 6 pin connectors at the moment, and was seeing if it was going to be fine simply adding a connector to the one to give enough power for the new graphics card i was gonna get

It runs my Radeon 6870 fine with 2 6 pin connections, i just need to find out if its safe to use the 6 pin to 8 pin connector i would get with MSI GTX 760, to run it and everything would be find and dandy and nothing blows up in my face

Hard to say really... It comes down to how much you trust it. I wouldn't put it in my baby. good way to burn up your pc or even your house.

don't trust that PSU and never will;
Go for something that fits into all three categories;
Corsair/Antec/XFX/Seasinic with at least 80+Bronze certification and a minimum on 5 years warranty, then you know your looking at something quality.
