My build's around 2 years old now
8GB RAM, GTX570, 3.6GHz AMD Quad and 2TB HDD
In the last couple of months Ive had a lot of problems playing certain games
A few minutes/sometimes a few hours/ or sometimes instantaneously the computer just crashes, no warning, no prompt, nothing it just turns off and starts up again
I think I have adequate cooling (6 Fans) and i get no thermal shutdown warning on startup again

It doesnt happen on all games only some - FarCry 3, Skyrim, GRID 2, Company of Heroes 2, BF3 and a few others
On most other games nothing happens - AC Black Flag, Company of Heroes 1, Counter Strike, GTA 4, GRID 1, SC Blacklist, etc

Ive stress tested the system on a few benchmarking softwares than folks suggested and the thing didnt crash
I can keep it running all day on movies or those other games that dont crash and nothing happens

I was hoping maybe you guys could give me advice on what to do
gaming on my laptop, good as it is, just isnt the same

Corsair GS600
Is there ANY way i confirm that without looking for a new PSU and putting it in?
Friends of mine have guessed at this and so have i, but they all say the only way to be sure is to put in a new PSU
And I cant say I have another 500w PSU lying around

Yeah I understand, the best way if possible (depends if you want too)
Would actually be to overclock as the stress on the PSU is a lot higher whilst overclocking but you may not have to correct cooler too do this.

You have enough fans in your case so as you said its either going to be the PSU (most likely)
Or the heatsink on the CPU/thermal paste isn't working to its maximum (Less likely)
It may seem a pain in the behind but those are really the only things that would cause something like that.

Virus in your hard drive that has corrupted the games you want to play.
ummm... PSU cables aren't securely plugged in causing system instability.
Underclocked ram... (VERY UNLICKELY)
and that's about it really...

Virus MIGHT be a problem, ive got no Antivirus
Ive checked all my cables several times so I doubt thats it
And ive never buggered with my RAM
Guess Ill have to install something and scan my system before I take the PSU path
