Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of picking parts for my new gaming build.
I'm aiming to play most games on high-ultra at at least 60fps.
I currently have 2 builds; 1 utilizes an amd fx-6300, the other an intel i5-4440, and am looking for a solution as to which one I should choose.
http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/StefanMcFeeters/saved/4Ac5 (AMD)
http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/StefanMcFeeters/saved/4Aca (Intel)
Any suggestions for different parts for each build are kindly welcomed. However, I don't plan to do any overclocking now or in the future, so any recommendations on a high end after market cooler or similar parts aren't necessary.
Cheers.

I think the I5 still beats the 8320 in sigle core performance, but as with the 6300 it will oc (if you want to do so) and is cheaper than the 4440. IF you oc then get the 8320, if not and you leave things stock then the 4440 is probably better to get.

Edit: Actually, after thinking about it; with the after market cpu cooler you WILL need to oc the 8320, the price might just wind up about the same as the i5 and the stock cooler, (intel runs much cooler).

There is a $47 dollar diff between the two builds so i'd save the money and go with the 6300 since its a little cheaper and can oc where the 4440 cant (I think). Don't always listen to the "when in doubt, buy intel" crowd thats on here.

I myself have an I5, but for your if i had your budget and the willingness to oc i'd go with an AMD cpu. I had a little more to spend and zero desire to oc so I went with Intel. Now if you want to do no oc then go with the 4440 as it has better stock performance.

Also I'd spend the extra $5 and get the 1TB wd drives. I always see them for $59 at places like newegg. Might be the same at the places you buy from.

the i5 is going to offer more power per core as where the amd offers less power but more cores. seeing as games only use 4 cores at max.(only a few can even use 4)In the future more cores might be utilized, but for now intell is the way to go.

Just realized i could use the AMD FX-8320 instead of the FX-6300, to bring the price gap to pretty much even. Would this out perform the i5-1440 at stock or would the i5 still come out on top?
Thanks tical, i'll go with the 1TB HDD istead of the 500gb.
