I tried installing the Radeon HD 3450 in my Acer AX3995 this evening. Initially it was physically to large to fit but I removed the faceplate and made it work. I plugged in my monitor to the original, integrated card but got no signal. I plugged it into the new video card and still got no video input. I opened my PC up again and removed the HD 3450 and now it works again. I'm running Windows 8 64x, 4GB RAM with integrated Intel HD graphics. What did I do wrong? Should I install drivers first? Do I need to rollback drivers first or boot into safemode or something?

Turn off your computer, install your new video card into the primary PCI-E slot. Make sure the DMS-59 cable is properly mounted to the interface port on the card. Firmly connect the DVI cable to the DMS-59 cable extension that has "1" on it and the other end to your monitor. Make sure no video cable is attached to the integrated graphics port on the motherboard. Start your computer and go into the BIOS and turn off the integrated graphics option. Save settings and exit. Your system should now start up normally and you should see the boot up sequence on your monitor now. If this does not work, then you may have damaged your card by 'making it fit' into your Acer AX3995.
