Bootable USB (be it Win7, Ubuntu, etc) ALWAYS shows blinking underscore upon startup.

I'm on a very nice Asus ROG laptop, on which I was trying to dual-install Ubuntu, but accidentally deleted all my booting options with EasyBCD. And therefore, my Win7 will not start anymore.

I still have a nice MacBook Air, from which I'm trying to create bootable USB's to get my PC to start on *any* platform, be it Ubuntu or Win7.

--> The first thing I did was create a bootable USB for Win7 using Bootcamp. I started up my PC, went into the BIOS, chose the USB, and... Blinking Underscore! :C

However, I thought to myself, "Well, why not just try Ubuntu. Ubuntu is an operating system that can be run right off of the USB anyways! After all, I just want to access all my files (I have like 300GB of videos and SDK's on my PC). So any OS will do. I just want my computer back!

I'll just show 4 pictures of my process of making a bootable USB and how, no matter what kind of USB for what kind of OS I make, it always results in a blinking underscore. Here is one I used for Ubuntu/Xubuntu.

Step 1: Formatting my 8GB USB to FAT32.

Step 2: Using "UNetbootin" to make a bootable Xubuntu (although I've tried Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Super Grub Disk, etc -- all fail)

Step 3: Successful bootable USB made.

Step 4: Choose to boot from USB from BIOS

And.... then... FAIL :C
Blinking underscore. Every time.

Help me Plsss. This is an expensive computer with tons of crap on it!
You are amazing !!

Thank you !! Thank you !!
I hate reading tutorials and step-by-step instructions, especially terminal stuff, because I just like a simple point-and-click deal with no thinking involved... but that's why I get for choosing Unetbootin!!

I knew that Unetbootin was garbage :C
