Right now i'm a bit of a noob when it comes to the entire overclocking thing and wouldn't want to do it. But maybe in the future. I know that when a cpu has the letter k behind it it means it's made to support/be overclocked. But could I have the k model of it (if not i'm just getting the regular i7 4770) and not overclock at all or would it not work as it should or something then? The reason I'm thinking of getting the k-model is if in the future I see I really want to overclock and have the experience to do so, then I can do it.

Yes if you buy a 4770K and don't OC it then it acts just like a 4770 with a slightly higher base clock (3.5 instead of 3.4).
If you don't think you will OC you can get the 4771 which is the same speed as the 4770K but the price of the 4770.

Yes. You can also buy a truck and never haul anything with it, but you always have the option.

If you don't feel like you are going to overclock, get a Xeon 1230v3. Costs a good deal less, and has similar performance. Not to mention you don't need the expensive Z87 board to go with it. A b85 pro4 is sufficient.
