Hi all
As the thread title explains I've been having issues starting up my pc. I was using vlc when it suddenly switched off. No programs closing, no blue screen. It just switched off.
When I tried to start it up again, it showed nothing on the display and in addition did not power the keyboard or mouse. However, all the fans would start, as well as the optical drive and HDD's.
It did start up twice, and on both occasions I started it in safe mode. I then ran an AVG scan on the whole system, only for it to crash again about five minutes in on both occasions, this time with a blue screen.
I have not made any hardware changes for about a year, and it has been running fine ever since then.
I haven't installed any new software for about a month either.
I am quite confused as to whether this is a hardware or software issue, and most advice on the web seems to be aimed at possible issues when assembling the pc, and mine has been running for well over a year now.
