Games randomly minimizing

Hello, I did a lot of research about it and I know there are similiar threads but none solved my problem so far so asking if anyone have an idea on what could be the issue. I checked for viruses, malwares, closed start-up programs and pretty much tried all the basic stuff. It wasn't always like this just started like a week ago or so but I dont think I did anything that would cause the issue. So would appreciate any help. Sometimes it works normal but sometimes all games keep minimazing after like a 5 mins or so.

I may have solved the problem (for me). I have a 1080p monitor but for some reason all my resolutions in game where different. 1864 x 1023 or some junk. So I hit the menu button on the Tv and found something under "Advanced Video" called "Overscan." I turned this off and now my Monitors "native" resolution matches resolution set by Windows. I would suggest that you go into nvidia control panel and click on "change resolution." Make sure you have the option selected that has (native) next to it. If you have to re-size the desktop using the nvidia control panel than there is something wrong with the video settings on your monitor. Hopefully this helps you.

I am not touching any keys and just usual background stuff like anti-virus and steam (stuff that I have been using for months) as far as I know. (maybe there is some secret program that runs)

if it was a virus or something the av should have detected it.but it must be some annoying program that you have accidentally installed while surfing the web

I check via task manager and all programs running looks like AV, drivers and microsoft stuff. I also closed the ones that start with windows like updaters.

I have the same GPU. I have a sneaky suspicion that this is a nvidia driver problem. This crap never happened until a few driver updates ago. I would say this all started for me around February 2014. Just after the driver update that provided a performance increase for Assassins Creed 4BF and some other games. I will check the driver list and roll back my driver to see if it works. I will keep you posted.

I have been trying every thing to keep this minimizing crap from happening and nothing has worked. Im convinced its a nvidia thing. Shoulda never switched from ATI cards.

Well maybe we have some kind of background program that creates conflicts? Nvidia GEForce experience thing was making my Counter Strike:Global Offensive freeze so I uninstalled that and solved the freezes. Hopefully it is an issue with the latest Nvidia drivers and it will get solved soon :(

Hey, I think I solved it, I just got tired of it and format my computer (win 8.1), didn't update my video drivers, so far so good no issues. By the way are you using a Samsung smart phone? I kinda suspect that it may be connecting my phone that causes this issues but I am no expert though. Hopefully it won't start doing it again. I will keep you update if anything happens.

I figured it out. My SSD, HDD and Optical drive were all on the same power supply. I kept getting the same error. With a little research i found that there was some problem with my SATA or other data cable. I put the SSD on its own power supply. Seems to have solved the issue.
