I am getting the same message as mixi25. The hard drive is relatively new. Got infected with viruses. I can attach to another computer and re-format it. It shows up in the BIOS. When it try to clean install windows 7 there is no hard drive listed to install on. It asks for a mass storage device driver. This is a laptop... no Raid. Any advice?

But why is this necessary?? I have clean installed windows 7 many times ( I maintain 24 computers in my office) using new or re-formatted hard drives (depending on their age) and never had this problem. This particular laptop had a clean install less than a year ago with no problem (until the user opened infected email). There is no Raid on this laptop. So what could cause the hard drive not showing up during the installation process and then asking for a "mass storage device driver" ??
