I have recently been running into an issue with my pc where it will freeze/crash a while after starting to play any game. My system is 1 and 1/2 years old and this has never happened before and it only happens while gaming. I have monitored the gpu temp while gaming and it never reaches above 70 (64-65 at max).
Specs
AMD Radeon HD7770 1gb
AMD fx-8150 Eight Core Processor 3.60GHz
2x4gb RAM Corsair XMS3
Windows 7 64bit
PowerCool 550w PSU

Solution
Hmm, I was thinking power supply, but it could be the newer driver is causing the issue perhaps going back to a earlier version may solve your problem.

My motherboard is an asus m5a78l LE. The timing seems mainly random although it never lasts longer than an hour and yes i have had it happen on basically all games. I recently installed the newest drivers because i thought that may be the issue but it didnt help.
And by a clean install do you mean windows or the drivers.

This is odd, I have just come off a good 2hr session of a game that was previously crashing me, it was fine. I did some general de-dusting and ran my GPU fan at a higher rate and it was ok. Will continue to test tommorow.
