I built about 2-3 weeks ago and it has been freezing randomly ever since. I don't mean short periods of sluggishness though. I'm talking about the type of freeze where even Ctrl alt del doesn't even work. The mouse even stays in the hand symbol instead of the pointer symbol. This freeze most commonly occurs at startup but sometimes after an hour or two of running the PC. Also, I got about two bsod (blue screens of death) a week after I built it. It seems to be a hard drive or memory issue, but I'm honestly not sure. Any help is much appreciated.

Use memtest86 to check your memory, you'll need a black CD or flash drive to boot the program. As for checking your drive, open a command prompt (just click the windows start button and type cmd then press enter) and try chkdsk or you can even do sfc/scannow. These programs look through your drive checking to file integrity issues and corruption.
