I'll save you guys all my rage and just leave it at: the GPU is dead and is desperately in need of repair. This is what happened to me: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/367759-33-nvidia-cras...

So as in that thread I need to rebuild the card with R45 or R50 inductors apparently now. I'll be frank though, I have no idea what parts I need to order. So my question is now, should I go with R45 or R50 inductors? and can anybody point me to this part on ebay?

Your input is greatly appreciated thanks guys!

In the end, it may be best to send nforce4max a private message and ask him for all the details, since this is not a very common topic.

It has been almost 2 weeks since I have posted this thread. I still have no solution, Just Cause 2 crashes upon opening and CSGO runs at 30 fps with low settings now. No reply from nforce4max. Hopefully someone can point me towards the right part I need to order soon!

Thank you!!!!!!

so you'd need something like these

in the unlikely event you eventually get the right ones, do you have any idea what to do with them? Do you have any experience in hand soldering surface mount components?

I have repaired a few guitar amplifiers as well as built a few guitar pedals. I can wield a soldering iron, just need some guidance on what part I should order.

here's a high res image of a Poin of View GTX280 which is based on the nvidia reference design as far as I know

there's at least three types of inductors on the board, but you're propably interested in the ones feeding the gpu chip itself, I'm guessing here they are the ones with
R12A
819
044
written on top (since there are 5 of them and less of the other ones)... Though if that 12A is actually their amperage rating it would make sense that the 4 'bigger' ones with 22A written on em are the ones feeding the gpu...
Anyways a quick googling didnt turn up anything usefull :/

But I wish you good luck in your quest nevertheless. :)

Alright I've opened up the card and sure enough some of the inductors are wiggly.
