So I've read about 1000 of these posts and haven't found one suited for my problem.
My build is
Core i5 2300
Biostar tz77a mobo
8gb (2x4gb) gskill rip jaw 1333mhz
Gt 240 gpu
630w psu.
And a shiny new case

A while back I had a windows 7 ISP disk (burned) and tried installing window 7 on my new build (had a key and all that jazz, just no disk) POST went fine, BIOS great. Ran the ISO disk but ran into the "missing DVD drive" error. So I decided hey instead of being a cheap ass, just go and buy a legit copy of windows.
So I drive to town and they don't have it.... Anywhere.. 7 or 8... So I download and burn it on a dvdr from their website. Put the DVD into my computer and boom.. "Please select boot device..." Blah blah. I have changed every sata connector, unplugged everything except for my DVD drive. No dice. Switched out the sata cable, nothing. Even switched out DVD drives entirely and nothing. Even went back to put the windows 7 ISO disk in and nothing.
Set my sata controller to IDE AHCI (or whatever it is) And raid. Set my boot order to DVD then HDD. Someone please help before i fill this thing full of bullet holes and call it a day.
