i tried with all of the auto settings and it would boot up to windows so i did the WEI on windows 7 and completed the test succesfully however, when i started playing games like tombraider for example, the PC froze and then BSOD. the type of ram i have is CORSAIR XMS2 4 sticks of 2GB ddr2 @800 Mhz.

thanks for the information im reading it right now.

I'm running the Core 2 E8400 (3.0 GHz stock) in my old system @ 3.96 GHz @ 1.296 v on an GA-EP45-DS3L
With 45 nm Core 2 and Gigabyte P45 Board somewhat similar to your Hardware.

First read general guides and tutorials about Core 2 overclocking!

I would suggest try settings:
around 1.2 - 1.3 vCore
maybe 1.3 v MCH (Northbridge) (since its 8 GB DDR2 I guess you're using 4 DIMMs)
try relaxing the memory Latencys like CL6-5-5-21 (that is what I use)
if needed memory voltage (VDIMM) around 1.9 - 2.1v

!!! OVERCLOCKING COULD DAMAGE YOUR HARDWARE AND MAY REDUCE IT'S LIFESPAN !!!
