I recently purchased PC from a company called Cybertron Pc. System is great. The issue lies now 2 months later with Windows. During an update everything went haywire and crashed. Turned it back on and there's ZERO restore points. All points corrupted and deleted can't go back and the Pc is moving ridiculously sluggish. It's "caught up" and is running at an okay pace ( starts off really slow then gets a little better after a restart). Now The OS interface obviously isnt working because I have no background and the side menus dont slide out and Im afraid to even hit start menu. I can't even get the stupid windows ISO file because my product key wont work. For 8 or 8.1.

My Pc came with 8.1. All I simply want to do is factory reset. Please, someone just tell me how to get to that point because I couldn't care less about my files right now. I need a working pc to edit.

Solution

Agreed this ISO problem with pre-loaded OEM systems is proving to be a right pain. If you don't have a Recovery Partition or even a repair Disk then your only option is to get back to Cybertron for Recovery Disks. If you are able to get into the Troubleshoot Menu and Advanced Options you could try fixing your installation with SFC and Dism.
If you can't access Troubleshoot then perhaps get a friend to create a Repair disk on another W8 PC.
Details...
First try System File Checker
Winkey plus 'X'
Choose Command Prompt (Admin)
Type sfc /scannow then Enter

It finds and fixes errors in Windows, but doesn't always report them. Run it and see if the fault disappears after re-booting your system
If corrupt files are found that can’t be fixed, try

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (Observe spaces before /)

Re-run SFC

To view CBS Log

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt

Search C drive for sfcdetails.txt or navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and scroll down.
