Upgrading from i5 to i7 worth it?

I currently am running an i5-3570k and am considering upgrading to a i7-4770k, I have the cooling to overclock my cpu (my i5 is running a 4.2), would it be worth it, in terms of gaming performance and overall speed of programs, to upgrade to a 4770k?

Aside from rendering, streaming, and recording, there is not much benefit in the upgrade, though a few games are optimized for 8 cores.

well if you do rendering or stuff like that, then you should upgrade. the thing is that you have to also upgrade your mobo

A cheaper solution is to upgrade to a 3770k since it uses LGA 1155 and you can keep the same motherboard.
