My Gigabyte R9 280x is supposed to have a mem clock of 1500 mhz. For some reason, whenever I restart my pc, it goes down to 700 mhz, but never goes back up to 1500, unless I manually reset it using MSI afterburner

have you applied and saved the memory clock settings in afterburner?

Save the profile and order it to load every time on startup.

The clocks go to rest state when no appreciable load is applied.

that's if in msi afterburner says 1500Mhz on memory clock, which he stated he has to adjust. If it were that, it would already say 1500Mhz on memory clock.

Did that, but it still goes back to 700 mhz when I restart the pc.

does it automatically startup on afterburner as 700Mhz? When you start a game, what is the max the memory clock goes to?

Yeah. Playing BF4, it stays at 700mhz.

then it is clocked to 700Mhz, have you actually exported the profile and then commanded it to load on startup?

Yes. After every reboot, it still goes to 700mhz.

I would try using a different OC software, try uninstalling the MSI afterburner and get the Asus DCUII, see if that makes a difference.

I use OC GURU_II, never appears to save my overclock, Asus one does, maybe it's the same case as the afterburner.

really?, I found Asus GPU Tweak the best....

But in saying that, everyone likes different software.
