I have an old HP Laser 3052 all in one. I was moving things around in my room one day, forgot I left it plugged in and I walked into the cable which gave the printer a good solid tug. The connection inside seems to have become loose and it won't print anymore. I'm sure it's inside the printer cause I've tried a few cables and the PC has more than one USB connector so it can't be the PC.

It seemed to me that the simplest fix is to connect my PC to the printer via the Ethernet plug in the back of the printer though an ethernet to USB converter but that's not working. It only recognizes it as USB 10/100 LAN in the device manager and every effort I've made hasn't worked.

I've looked into setting up a home network, but that's a little involved for my inexperienced skill set and I've followed a several on-line tutorials both written and you-tube and nothing has worked. Windows 7.

Do I have to go through the router and/or create a home network or is there some way to tell the computer to find the printer direct through the USB 10/100 Lan connection? Sorry if my words aren't PC enough. ;)

Thanks.
