Hello, I am trying to convince my friend to switch to PC gaming and he is nearly converted but we play a lot of call of duty and he likes to snipe and for him at least he says sniping in games like Black ops 2 is easier with a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse. (I kind of agree since I only just switched to PC about 1 year ago and I am used to console my whole life) So does PC turn on aim-assist when you plug in a gamepad?

Some games do have it (Titanfall would be a recent example), or at least give you an option to turn it on, but many games don't. You'd have to research the specific games you're thinking about.

To be honest, I'd say one of the biggest advantages with gaming on the PC is that you can play with keyboard and mouse, so to stick with a controller on the PC seems like a bit of a waste (obviously that's just my opinion :)). It may take a little bit of practice (you're playing against people who are used to the control scheme after all), but it shouldn't be long before the both of you are performing far better with a mouse and keyboard than you ever did with a controller.
