Yea , You are good to go with a 450W or more PSU (Even 400W Would work)

With an Acer Aspire and the older CPU, you are OK with a low end gaming card. Post your exact model # and case style. I doubt your power supply is even a 300 watt one, and the case has to be large enough to hold certain cards. You may be limited to small form factor cards.

nVidia 750 ti may be the top card you can use, even that may not work depending on your power supply.

The E5400 is just the CPU, not the computer model. Either way, I'm pretty sure you have a smaller case with a low watt power supply that will not work with any cards that are good for games. The GT 610 is not a good gaming card, but may be the only one that will fit your system. You will have to play games at low settings for anything newer, and some will play so bad you won't even want to play them.

If you get the full model # it may help more, the model should be on the case, and also on the documentation.

Your power supply is very low for any type of decent gaming card. Without a power supply upgrade you will not be able to play newer games. The lowest power low end gaming card is the R7 240 and that will be very close to the safe maximum of your system.

This card will fit in your case, even if it's a small case http://www.tomshardware.com/news/sapphire-r7-240-low-pr... but you are very close to power issues. You can get it, but you may be unstable without a better power supply.

Combined with your slower CPU, that video card is the minimum you'd want to run new games even on low settings.
The GT610 may be faster than your onboard video, and will run on lower power than the Radeon R7 240 but it is not close to a card you'd want to use for games. The 610 is ranked about 400 in the video card chart, for a lower end gaming card, even an older model, it should be about 200 or lower.

Yes, for newer games you would want a full system upgrade. To play some older games (WOW, Half-Life 2 and such), you will be OK with your CPU and a power supply upgrade to a 280-300 watt one and a lower end video card.
