Upgrading my GPU - Seeking information

Hello all,

My current PC configuration is as follows.

CPU - AMD FX8350
RAM - 16GB DDR3
GPU - AMD 6700 series
PSU - 600W Tagan.
Monitor - LCD LG 18 Inches
HDD - 3x ( 1x, 40GB ssd, 1 500GB, 1 250GB)
I am planning on upgrading my GPU as it has been in use for several years. I mainly play World of Warcraft and have found drop in FPS during 25 man raids, however the GPU runs well overall.

I would like suggestions on a good GPU which will go well with my FX8350 CPU keeping in consideration of my 600W PSU with 3 internal HDDs.

I have 2 GPUs in mind, the AMD 7850 1GB and the Nvidia GTX660.

Please let me know which of the above cards will perform best with my current set-up with no bottle neck. Also please feel free to recommend other GPUs as well.

So do you mean to say the GTX660 or the 7850 will cause a bottle neck? Im on a budget here and cant addord a high end card. Also will my PSU be sufficient?

I have 3X Internal HDDs along with a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Heat Sink Fan for CPU.

Hello Gentlemen, Looking for a wide variety of opinions here. Appreciate your replies. Also please enlighten me on how many watts my CPU will be consuming at present? The reason why im asking this is, I dont want the new GPU I buy to run on low wattage.

Hi and welcome to toms hardware!

GPU's don't choose wattage depending on how much your other components draw, it takes as much as it needs, if it doesn't get what it want, Blue/black screen it is! So no problem with where wattage goes.

CPU varies power on what your doing, so always hard to predict, as gadgets/taskbar apps effect the power consumption of the CPU.

The 7850 and GTX 660 are really close in performance, I do prefer the 7850 but get what card you'd rather have, no big difference in games.

Hi and thanks for the reply, what i was wondering was weather the 7850 will run smooth with my 600W PSU, since I already have 3 HDDS. The 7850 consumes 130W Power.
