How much difference does it make on gaming performance of the data fetching rate of internal harddrives

How much difference does it make on gaming performance of the data fetching rate of internal harddrives?? for example i have a 800 mbps rate hd and the newer ones have 6gbps how much a difference will it make in gaming(provided all other factors are optimum)??

it can make a big difference but for gaming you only need about 130MBps to stop texture pop from games that stream there textures rather than buffering them in ram.
6 Gbps = 768 MBps
so thats pretty close to your 800MBps. (notice the uppercase MB it stands for mega bytes, mb stands for mega bits which is 1/8 the size and is not used to calculate drive speeds)

The only time faster hard drive accessing makes a difference is when you actually have to access the hard drive.
That is when
-game loads
-maps load
-you have HUGE textures (Skyrim)
-for some coding error you have to access the hard drive while gaming (rarely but sadly happens e.g Assassins Creed 3 if memory serves well)

But aside from these times (a.i. when all data is already in your memory) the effect is not significant.
