Bit of a complicated one here.
I built a rig for gaming over Christmas based on an 8350 (with Sabertooth 990FX). It's OC'd to 4.8. I've not been fully impressed by its performance and now have my eyes set on playing Watch Dogs as close to Ultra as possible.
Here's the complication: I'm running 2x R9 290 (non-x).
If I was to swap the CPU/MOBO I'd sell one of the 290s to finance it (and pocket remaining cash).
The reason I'm considering selling the 2nd card is manifold: Litecoin mining difficulty is through the roof now; Crossfire graphics performance isn't as impressive as I'd hoped (I'm gaming at 1080p and can't hold 60fps in Far Cry 3); there's graphical annoyances ie flickering and incompatibility (Titanfall for example); overheating issues even in a large, good case.
So, sell an R9 290, an 8350 and Sabertooth and replace with 4670k, a Z87 mobo and some spare cash?
The CPU will be getting overclocked on water.
Thoughts?
