I've had my Sony Vaio laptop for 2 years now, about 2 weeks ago, it randomly crashed.

Since then, every time I try to start up the laptop, after logging in it would crash within 1-5 minutes. This also happens when I try to turn it on safe mode.

I have not recently installed any software or drivers and I'm currently unable to copy files off the laptop without it crashing.

Please help me!

Sounds like it's overheating. Clean out any vents. It may also need to be taken apart and cleaned.

*My laptop was doing about the same thing... I ended up having to take it fully apart, and redo all the thermal paste. Make sure to get some thermal pads also, in case you need them for the GPU.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any suggestions on how to clean out the vents/taking apart my laptop for cleaning?

For cleaning the vents, I just use a Vacuum... Don't use a duster, since that just blows the junk back in.

As for taking it a part, I suggest watching youtube videos of some one doing it. The first time is the worst, but it really isn't that bad as long as you keep your screws labeled and separated.

Make sure to get some thermal pads. The GPU chip on my laptop needed them because of spacing. The way my heatsink tied down left space, which can only be filled by a thermal pad.

Something like this...

Sorry, I don't remember the size I used, but this might be it. 1.5mm.

Fujipoly is the brand I was suggested. You'll have enough to do a few different applications.

Good luck man.
