So I will be graduating next summer and I was thinking about buiding a new computer. As of right now, I own a late 2012 imac with a 3770 and gtx 680mx, 8gb ram and hybrid ssd/hdd. I will be primarily gaming on the PC, but I have also recently wanted to back up my movie collection on my computer. I have around 150 movies i would like to add to my itunes library. So my question is, would I be better off building a computer next summer, which I have a $2500 budget for, and use that to game/render/encode my movies, or should I stick with my imac for all of that. Also, how much faster would a 3930k with 16gb ram vs my 3770 with 8gb ram be for the encoding and rendering process of putting my movies on itunes.
