I just got an Intel i7 4770k and am about to buy a matching Asus z97-a. (Yes, z97.) The last thing I need to buy is a CPU cooler for the I7, but I am not sure which to buy. I am looking for lowest temp possible, everything else is second priority. Price is also not much of a problem, I am willing to spend up to around $100 for it. However, I do not want to uselessly throw away money for 1-2 degrees. I am fine with both liquid and air cooling.

the h100i is generally considered the go to here. its generally on sale somewhere for $90
This also depends on your case... whether you can fit a 240mm radiator as an INTAKE up front.
you'll have to check out your case for that option. if so, the h100i in the front is hard to beat.

often times it's better to get a 120mm push/pull rad setup, and mount it as intake where the rear exhaust usually goes. so it will pull in fresh air from outside, then immediately go out the top of the case.

In my experience, if you have two especially warm GPUs running, a top mount 240rad is just pulling in all the hot air from teh GPUs... so a 120 rad as intake is best. 240mm rad as intake is absolute best.

however, the best cooling for the 4770k is simply to de-lid it. you'll drop 20 degrees under load.

Budget Cooling: CM Hyper 212 EVO

High-end cooling: Corsair H80i/H100i or other some such equivalent. The H100i can be a tough cooler to fit in a case, as with other double radiator coolers. The H80i is easier, but still a tight fit in a smaller case. The H80i is good for about a 4.2/4.3GHz overclock under stress test conditions -- maybe 4.5 if you don't run your CPU into the ground on a daily basis.

Not really sure how the doubles fit/screw in. From the amazon page I posted does it look like it would fit?

It's hard to say. Amazon doesn't have any good shots of the case. I can say that it would potentially fit in an exhaust configuration at the back top vent. The H80i radiator is only a touch bigger than a 120MM fan in size. As for mounting it, there are screws that go through one 120MM fans (on both sides), and screw right into a radiator coupling.

Here is Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129100

Is that more helpful? I really don't know what to look for :/

You could easily fit even either an H80i or H100i on the back vents on that case. If water cooling is what you're looking for, that is.

As for water cooling, I personally favor it just because it gives good cooling and is quieter than some air cooling solutions. It just comes down to personal preference, both types do an excellent job regardless.
