I couldn't install Win 7 to SSD in AHCI mode, can i go with IDE mode safely?

I'm having some difficulties to make a clean install to my new SSD in ACHI mode ( long waiting at " windows is installing files " screen and blank blue windows screen afterwards ) so i wanted to go with IDE mode for not having future difficulties

since my mobo has SATA 2 settings, i think i will not have extreme speed differences between ACHı and Native IDE modes

here's my most important question, after i make a clean install to SSD in IDE mode, can i add an extra storage HDD without changing anything in BIOS safely, or IDE mode can only support for 1 disk only

Ty for replies, best regards

IDE mode makes no difference to the number of hard drives you can install. Remember when all hard drives were IDE before SATA came along? Even in the days of IDE, users were installing two or even three hard drives. I had two in mine.

Just one thing to remember, don't try switching back to AHCI after Windows has been installed or Windows will complain and fail to start.
