Well, I've used Icemats for a long time, followed by SteelSeries Siberia v2. All good headsets. I currently use a Corsair Vengeance 2100 and have no issues with it, and it's wireless.

If I'm not mistaken, most headphones nowadays (I'm sure there are a few that aren't) are noise cancelling, or as close to it as possible so that others around you can't hear what you're listening to, and vice versa. If you talk normally with a standard microphone, there shoud be no problem with the people you're talking to being able to hear you. Just get a Blue Snowball for your microphone and keep your current headset to listen. If you just train yourself to not yell because you can't hear yourself, you'd do the world a favor. Seriously, with a dedicated microphone, you can just talk normally without worrying whether or not the other person(s) can hear you.

Depends on your budget really. If you have the money I would totally recommend picking up a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-990's and then buying a Modmic (or any random mic really). They will give you way better sound quality than most gaming headsets.
