I am building a mid-range gaming desktop but have a newbie question. I am about to order the case fans. The two 140mm fans that come with the Thermaltake Water 3.0 will be mounted to the top of a Fractal Design R4 w/window. Are these exhaust or intake fans?

Computer Build
Case - Fractal Design R4 w/ window - (PURCHASED)
Motherboard - ASRock Z87 Extreme 6 - (PURCHASED)
CPU - Intel Core i5 4670K - (PENDING)
Video Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 770 - (PENDING)
Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4) - (PURCHASED)
PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750 - (PURCHASED)
Storage - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD - (PENDING) and I already have a 750GB Seagate Barracuda
CPU Cooling - Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme - (PURCHASED)
Case Fans - 3 140mm case fans - (READY TO ORDER)
Wireless Card - NETGEAR WN311B Wireless Adapter (PURCHASED)
CDROM Drive - Samsung TS-H653 - Already have
OS - Windows 7 Professional but I could always decide to go with 8.1 before actual assembly.

How does this set up look?

Hi safetymedic!
This is a very nice CPU, for overclocking I would say but for general use too. Good motherboard Chipset. Nice video card that will last for a long bit. 8GB of ram is always enough imo. 750w is plenty power your need I would say. SSDs are more of a personnal choice, yes it makes everything faster, but I would recommend it only if you can afford the extra money for it, it sure makes a difference but if you're on a budget, I wouldn't take it. Windows 7 FTW.
As for the water cooler, I'm not sure I understand your question. The fans that comes with it will be mounted on the radiator of the cooler. If you plan on mounting your water cooler on the top of your case and if you're talking about the 140mm you will be ordering...

If you plan on mounting your water cooler on the top of your case and if you're talking about the 140mm you will be ordering aside from the cooler, then you can mount one on the rear and 3 at the front, as said in the description of your case. Usually, front and sides are fore intake while top and rear are for exhaust. That being said, the water cooler and the rear fan should let the air out while the front fans will bring air inside.
Nice build overall.
I hope this clear things up!

Thanks for the answer. I am actually building this with my 14 year old son. My question was purely one of vanity. Basically I wanted all the cool blingy lights and was going for the led fans. When the case got here I realized that the fans would be mounted on the top and air directed toward the radiator thus negating any internal lighting effects. We opted instead for better fans without lights and decided to utilize the NZXT HUE RGB Led Controller for case lighting. Thanks for your answer. I can't wait to finish this build and see how the machine performs. I am almost as excited as he is.

Yeah I was like that at the beginning of my current build as I wanted some LEDs everywhere and all but had to drop it for better fans. But yeah, LEDs controller sounds great. I hope all goes well for your build. It should be a beast!

3.0 Extreme has 2x 120mm fans. were you meaning that you were going to replace them with 140mm? i see it's been over a year but if you have changed to 140mm on that radiator it would be a better idea to change back to 120mm. there is excess air being blown around the radiator instead of straight through it so it is less effective at cooling the fins of the radiator.
