I am running Windows 8 now and I wan't to install Windows 7. I now have a 4TB HDD which is split in 2 partition (it is however showed as one in disk management?)

My question is: Will Windows 7 recognize my 4TB HDD? I'm afraid that it will go lost in the process and I can't make a backup.

Thanks

Why are you downgrading? You should really stick with 8 or better yet upgrade to 8.1 as 8.1 handles large discs, multicore processors, and large amounts of RAM way better than 7 does.

Also, with 8.1 you don't ever have to see that fugly Metro UI thing--I boot straight to desktop and it looks like Windows 7 but has all the benefits and speed of Windows 8.1!

But to answer your question, yes Win7 will recognize your 4TB disc.

Although I don't recommend the downgrade ;)

Well my real problem is that I bought a Canopus advc-110 and wan't to digitalze my old VHS tapes. It does not work in Windows 8. I tryed using "compatibility mode" but I don't rly know how to use it.

The Canopus advc-110 should however work on Windows 7. I thought about making a dual boot, but i'm not sure how easy that is?

I kinder feel like I'm in deep water here...

Oh, right on. I understand that. You should be able to install Windows 7 and have your 4TB drive work fine. I wouldn't mess with dual booting, unless you want to further partition your drive.
