Is this a good IPS monitor that I can use for gaming? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CIZZ0QO?tag=intercept-kb-20

I do graphic design and video editing so I want great/accurate colors, but I also game so I want something that will game without being too terrible. I don't play games like Crysis/BF4, but I will be playing games like Skyrim, mmorpgs and I'll be wanting to play Watch Dogs when it comes out so I don't know if that monitor will be good enough or not. I like that it has a resolution that's higher than 1080 though, and its response time is 5ms apparently, which is better than a lot of other IPS monitors that are about 8ms+.

If that's not any good, can anyone suggest a better IPS monitor? My budget is about $600 max.

Don't worry about the difference between 5ms and 8ms for games. On a monitor with a refresh rate of 60 Hz it really doesn't matter.
The monitor you have linked has a resolution of 1920x1200 on a 24" monitor, which is approximately the same pixel pitch as 1920x1080 monitors of the same size but in a 16x10 aspect ratio. I suggest you read some detailed reviews on it. My experience with other Asus VS series monitors has not been good.

I looked at a lot of monitors wanting something with accurate colours suitable for games. I bought the Dell U2713HM and I can't recommend it highly enough. 2560x1440 resolution, 27" monitor. Colours are fantastic.

The closest equivalent from Asus is the PB278Q, which does look good but reviews state that the colour accuracy calibrated or out of the box is not as good as the Dell.

The Dell 2414H is 24" at1920x1080.
The Asus Asus PB248Q is 24" at 1920x1200.
These are cheaper but have a larger pixel pitch (less pixels in every square inch of screen). They are probably good options if the 27" monitors I've listed are too expensive. The 27" monitors are well worth it though if you can.
