Hi all!

Really confused on this one! On our office server running XP Pro 32 bit we have an image folder currently 25Gb. All was well until today when our IT Pro (me) accidentally moved the folder to a sub-folder position. I was unable to recover the folder; for some reason only half its contents were there. So I deleted it and took a copy from the internal mirror drive and put it where it belonged.

So far so good. But now the newly copied folder takes over 5 minutes to open when working on the server. If I change the name of the problem folder it opens fine. When I change it back again the problem returns. We have proprietary software that requires a specific folder name so this is not a good fix.

This has never happened before, and doe not occur with any other folder, even the duplicate of this folder on a mirror drive. Our workstations can access the folder fine.

I'm pulling my hair out (what's left of it). Any ideas?
