I have a GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GPU with one HDMI slot. I have an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Mobo which also has one HDMI slot. I just got a Sony HT-CT660 soundbar, which lets me connect via HDMI. My GPU currently connects via HDMI to my Sceptre X405BV-FHD3 LCD TV.

When I try connecting my speakers to my Mobo via HDMI, I can't get sound to come out. When I connects my speakers to my TV via HDMI, I still can't get sound to come out. I feel like there's some way to get the sound working, but I'm drawing a blank.

Also, I tested the speakers through Bluetooth, and they work fine, so it's not as if they don't work.

Thanks in advance for any and all help you can lend.

I don't know what you've tried so far, but if you right click the speaker icon in your system tray, click on playback devices, then select the hdmi output you want to use and set it as default device.

I've tried both of the options on that list, S/PDIF and the TV. Neither one's produced any sound.

Yes. There are two drop down boxes for DVI, and one for HDMI. There are only two choices for HDMI, disable and the TV. I've tried both options, but with no luck.

As far as I know, you can only have one active sound channel at once. I can't connect to my mobo speaker out and have my HDMI plug active on my discrete GPU as well. However I have no idea what would happen if you used a displayport to HDMI adapter though.
