I had a really difficult day with my system. Out of frustration I banged my first on the table my LCD monitor sits on. I didn't hit the table that hard, just a good thump and I absolutely made no direct contact with the monitor at all. But the LCD monitor immediately went off. Now it won't turn on any more. If I leave it unplugged for about a 1/2 hour, and then plug it on, I see the power button light flash on for second and then off. After that, re-plugging it in or pressing the power button does nothing. If I wait another 1/2 hour the syndrome repeats.
What the heck could have happened? If it was an old CRT monitor I could understand this since they have glass inside. Actually that would be pretty hard to fathom too. But this is just nuts. It's a nice ASUS VW246H display and I'd really like to get it back running. This really feels like one of those weird things that has to be a quirk. I've never had an LCD monitor be that delicate.
Note, I definitely have jiggled the power cord at either hand, completely removing and reseating each end. The same goes for the data cable.
Any ideas? Anyone has a similar experience?
