I have an old 80GB IDE Fujitsu external hard drive that have been plugged into a desktop front USB port that wasn't hooked up to the board the right way, causing the hard drive to stop from turning on.

i have tried change the converter, cables, and looked for similar board with no luck to give power to the hard drive in order to backup some important data in it.
i looked up the board for visual damage and i found one, replaced it, and now the hdd have power, detected, but if u go to disk management i find that the hard drive have an X red mark on it, and it doesn't show the capacity of hdd. checked the hard drive for any visual damage to its parts and found none
now my question is 1st, can i recover my data from the hard drive like that???
anyone know if there is any other parts damaged on the board that cause the hard drive to act this way

please let me know if u need any other information that leads to help getting this data of the hard drive

thank you all

No, i was thinking about that but, its a laptop external hard drive, so i couldn't hook it up internal inside a desktop, cuz i couldn't find any connections for direct internal connection
