SOMEBODY HELP ME with gtx 660

today bought a GTX 660 Synergy Edition 2GB...i installed the card as usual....i used a DVI to VGA adapter and connected the 6pin power connector....but when i turn on the pc the fan in the GPU,psu and everything runs fine,but my monitor displays CABLE NOT CONNECTED..What to do please please help me....

core i3 3220 3.3GHZ
8GB corsair Vengeance 1600MHZ
AsRock H61M-S1
Basic 450W psu
Zotac GTX 660 2GB Synergy Edition

see whether your monitor supports HDCP..if not you would have to change your monitor what is your monitor?

Does the gpu have more than one DVI port? If so, try the other one as not all DVI ports are compatible with VGA adaptors.

Does my PSU making trouble? because it just only a basic 450w psu....i took the GPU to a local service centre and they said that the card may be dead.....

try and find another monitor to check....i dont think that the problem is with your card...I'm sure that your monitor doesn't support hdcp..same thing happened to me once with aoc 15 inches monitor.I had to change my monitor..now i have a hp lv1911..it solved the case..

in order to convert dvi to vga the monitor should have hdcp capability...or otherwise it shows as cable not connected..

Yeah I would also point the blame at the monitor based on the information available.

OP: Can you not test the computer on another monitor/tv?

ya Man..but the same shit happened to me with my Aoc monitor...I was so Pissed...I had to buy a monitor..First you should try with your TV..If it works, problem is surely in Monitor

If you're adding a dedicated video card for the first time, you were running off the the integrated graphics on the CPU.

Did you go into your BIOS and disable the integrated graphics?

If so, use an HDMI to test on a TV or other display.
