format is best for a clean installation of windows , be sure to go to your motherboard manufacturers website and download all the latest drivers
for windows 7 64bit as they will be different from 32bit , also before installation of windows go into your bios and change IDE mode on the SSD to AHCI
mode , this will enable the trim command and let your ssd work much faster
