Hello there!
I am planning on buying a new gaming PC (going to order components and build it myself), and I need help determining how strong of a power supply I need.
These are the components I am planning on ordering:

Motherboard: ASUS B85-PRO GAMER, Socket-1150 ATX, B85, DDR3, 2xPCIe-x16, CFX, Intel GbLAN & GameFirst II, SupremeFX, Haswell
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB PhysX CUDA "SC", EVGA ACX Cooler, with WATCH_DOGS
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K Socket-LGA1150, Quad Core, 3.4GHz, 6MB, 84W, HD4600, Boxed w/fan, Haswell
RAM: Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 8GB Kit w/2X HyperX Genesis 4GB DDR3, CL9-9-9-27, 240pin
HDD: Seagate Barracuda® 1TB SATA 6Gb/s (SATA 3.0), 64MB Cache, 7200RPM, 3.5"

The online store I am considering ordering this from, says I need at least a 750W PSU, but I want some opinions here as I don´t really want to spend a lot of money on a PSU if it´s gonna be overkill.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Edit: also if you could give me your opinion on whether this is a decent gaming rig that will run games like BF4, WoW, Diablo3 and other MMOs on high settings with good fps?

Regards

there dropping in a week per newegg.
with intel chipsets the b/h are locked chipset. you cant overclock the cpu. you need a z. if you on a fix build funds your better off using the b/h mb and a locked cpu and using the money for a better gpu. the base speed is not much from 4570 or 4670 cpu. look at the ports on the back of the b/h mb and the number of sata ports on the mb. most h mb have more ports and ram slots. the cheaper b mb most time have 2 slots and have a 16g ram limit.
if your not going to over clock your cpu at all. then drop down to the 4570. if you have a local micro center there about 160.00. if not pick up the asus -a mb that about 130.00 online. it let you overclock. if your going to have your pc for awile and are going to upgrade it over time. wait for the newer x9x chipset mb that are dropping soon. it let you use the older and newer haswells cpu. a 650w power supply should be fine if it a cosair or seasoinc unit. the 750w units will have a slightly higher amps rating on the 12v line. if you use parts picker. you can sometime get a 850w with rebates for the same price as the smaller power supplys. when looking at them make sure there haswell tested. if there not when you put a haswell cpu into low power sleep the power supply will shut off. if you have to buy a non haswell but a good brand power supply all you have to do is turn off the c6/c7 sleep mode in the bios. it let you put the rig to sleep without it shutting down.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!
So you mean like the ASUS Z87-A would be a better choice for overclocking? When are the 9 series motherboards coming to sale? I don´t really want to wait too long, need a new PC pretty soon.

Well yeah I am kind of on fixed build funds, but I think I´m gonna go for a MSI Z87M-G43, the price difference is not that big, and it´s good to have a possibility for oc I guess?
When it comes to getting a better GPU, I don´t think that would be an option, as the GTX 780 costs waaay more than the 770. The price difference between a i5-4670 and 4570 is really small, so I´m still going to get the 4670 with the MSI Z87M. I think it´s the best solution right now, what do you think?

About the PSU - you don't need that much of a PSU for your system. A good quality PSU (Corsair, Antec, Seasonic) ranging from 500-600w could do just fine. I would recommend a minimum of 600w though, just to give some headroom on the system.

About the CPU - That CPU and Mobo combination would work well. Yes, the mobo is intended for *slight* OC anyways, so it should OC well. Just remember not to extremely stress that CPU with nonsense overclocking.

You should be happy with your build. Cheers !
