Planning on purchasing new graphics card, Different PCIe?

So I was planning to purchase a new graphics card (Radeon R9 270x) However looking at the specs it says it uses PCIe Express x16 3.0 However my motherboard (Asus m5a97 r2.0) Only seems to support PCIe Express 2.0. Does this mean I need a new motherboard If im going to be able to use the r9 270x?

Yes you can still use that card , it is backwards compatible from pcie 3.0 to 2.0 and you would notice little difference even if you had pcie 3.0
