This is probably a stupid question but I've read contrasting answers everywhere.

Is there an adapter that I can buy to allow a non-PWM fan to be controlled by Asus AI Suite III?

These are the fans that I need it:
Aerocool Shark 120mm http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00432YOC6/
Aerocool Shark 120mm http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00432T2WI/

If it matters, some pairs of these fans will be connected to one header using these PWM splitters:
Akasa PWM Fan Splitter http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005FWXWPS/

Solution
"PWM" is as you know, Pulse Width Modulation which is a type of technology to control the speed (output) of devices,

No, it is not possible to use an adapter connector and change non-PWM to PWM. The fan will run but not as a PWM fan.

Solution

Those "PWM adapters" are to adapt from 3-pins to 4-pins; that's all. They should be labeled "3-pins to 4-pins adapters" not PWM adapters. Hence the confusion.

I thought it was the first two fingers that were cut off. Or am I thinking of something different?

I'm English and over here if you show those two fingers (reverse 'peace' sign) to someone it's an insult.
