Hello.

I currently have a laptop with i5 3337U processor that comes with 6GB RAM. I'm interested in upgrading the memory and was wondering if this is compatible with it.

Corsair DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) Laptop RAM (CMSO8GX3M1A1600C11)

PS) Which screw driver is good to open laptops?

Thanks!

The memory depends more on the make and model of the PC - what is it?

Usually, laptop screws require a very small philips screwdriver. There should be an online technical manual for it that will explain many component upgrade or replacement steps, including which screws need to be removed (it isn't always obvious).

Most laptops have a hatch under the base held down by two Pozi screws - 1.5mm I think. Hiding behind that hatch are the memory (RAM) modules but you should check first that the RAM is actually upgradeable. Microsoft now say that Windows 8 can run on 1Gb so Samsung may have maxed out on the slots at 3Gb each and you can't exceed that. Read these pages from the Samsung website first. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP530U...

My Lenova has two RAM slots under a cover, which has three small philips-head screws. I've worked on HP laptops that had one (empty, expansion) slot under a cover (one small philips, iirc), and the other (factory-filled) under the keyboard (a pain to remove). One slot may be marked to be used first.
