R9 280X vs GTX 760?

The 280x is a much better card than the 760. The 280x is on par with the 770, which is about 15-20% faster than the 760.
That said, I don't think it would be worth it to return the 760, pay shipping and restock fee AND the additional money for the 280x. Be happy with the 760, I love mine

On Tom's gpu hierarchy chart, the GTX760 and R9-280X are in adjacent tiers, with the 280X being slightly stronger. I doubt that you would be able to detect any difference in actual usage without a synthetic benchmark.
I doubt that it would be worth your effort, even with an even swap.
If you prefer amd drivers, perhaps, but most seem to prefer the nvidia graphics drivers.
