that is a sandy bridge board. A bios update should allow your Ivy Bridge CPU to work in MOST cases. Go to manufacturer website and download/install latest bios.

I can't find it on the official Asus site, but I somehow found it on their support site: http://support.asus.com/Cpusupport/List.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P8H61-M%20LX3&p=1&s=39
There's no i3-3220 on the list so it's probably not compatible.

However there are several Ivy bridge CPU's on the list and therefore should be compatible as it should be pin compatible with all the Ivy Bridge cpus in that case.

even if the bios does not recognise the model the Clock and multiplier settings are automatically set by pins on the CPU. The only thing missing would be the name of the model on the post.
