Skyrim Disabling GPU

Hi all,
Skyrim completely disables my GPU (I think). It turns off my monitor, the sound still plays, but then crashes completely, forcing me to hard reset. It happens at stock clock speeds as well as overclocked ones (which is stable). I have googled it, and no luck. I have set my Sound Quality to 16-bit, 44100 Hz but it makes no difference.
I have an ASUS GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC, and an Intel Core i7 4770k @ 4.2 GHz.

psu make and model? check cpu and gpu temperature?

XFX PRO 650W. My CPU/GPU always stays below 60 degrees Celsius.

Screen going black usually means driver issue, make sure you are running the newest nvidia drivers.

The only thing I could think of is the psu can't handled the 780 ti oc.

mods? alot of CTD's happen in skyrim especially those that mess with how your drivers basically decompresses data.

any other games that experience the same issue? if non, then the application is at fault here.

I know it sounds stupid, like that's obviously the issue, but I don't think it is. No other games that do this.

well there's no harm in disabling the mods then comeback here to post the result, so that we can isolate/narrow down the problem.

play it in vanilla, then post your results.

start by enabling one at a time, thats the best course of action.

well i haven't played it in awhile, best bet is to check skyrim nexus for a fix and compatibly with different mods.

If you use NMM you should be able to check version pretty easy, but the manually installed mods could be tricky. I found the epic storms (or something like that) caused the game to crash constantly, it was annoying to track down. If the game version updated make sure SKSE is updated too.

Ok. I'm back. It seems I was wrong before, and it's happened again. My card is underclocked and the fan speed at 90%. What do I do?
