Just built my first pc.
The graphics card, blu-ray drive and motherboard have lights on when the power button is pressed but the CPU cooler doesn't spin.
It won't display an output to a monitor through hdmi.

I have no idea what the problem is. Can anyone help?

So I took the motherboard out of the case and tried to just test boot it with the cpu, cpu cooler and video card.
The video card spins up and starts to work but it still won't display anything to the monitor and the cpu fan doesn't spin

I tried again and the cpu fan spun when I held the power cables for the motherboard but after about a second there is a click and it stops. It keeps doing this now.

None of the steps helped? Then the only option is to start replacing parts one by one. I would recommend starting with the PSU, then the mobo, then the CPU.

Only problem is I don't have any extra parts just laying around

Can you borrow from a friend? Or a local PC shop?
