I have a similar problem. I think the problem is the HD audio front panel. I have 2 solutions. Unplugging the front audio cable from the motherboard or switching to an AC 97 front panel through UEFI or the Realtek control panel (disabling jack detection)

I have the same problem! It started when I installed a new VGA (Powercolor R7 260X).
I tried to move every pc components (cpu, vga, ram, etc) to a new Evo R2.0 I received from a friend, and there were no problems with the sound. Maybe because the newer board has newer bios?
As I know the new VGAs have some kind of audio-control and maybe this causes the problem?

The weirdest thing is that when I uninstalled the audio drivers, there were absolutely no sound. I installed them back again and the popping didn't stop while restarting! I hear the popping continuousl under booting!

I have tried every kind of audio drivers! Windows-reinstall didn't helped at all!

(sorry for the poor english)
