For the life of me, I cannot get my Dell Dim. 2350 bios to recognize my SATA drives! My PATA drive(C:) is only 4G, and I have been trying for quite some time to figure out how I can install an OS on one of my other 2 SATA drives. I have tried everything I read about from bios upgrade flashing to slipstreamed SATA driver XP install discs. The only way that I know to install an OS (I have XP discs from Dell) is booting from disc, and have never seen either SATA drive as an "install to" option, nor have I seen any SATA options in BIOS. Maybe my Mobo will never recognize SATA drives?? It is the original Mobo that came with the computer. I have Dim. 2350 w/ 2G RAM added and A02(latest) flashed to my BIOS. C: is 4G Fujitsu PATA drive, F: is WD 120G, G: is WD 1T, D & E are optical drives(E is Lite-On DVD-RW). Also installed NVIDIA GEForce 6200 and Silicon Image SiI 3114 SoftRaid 5 controller to connect E,F and G(all SATA). Running XP Pro currently. Could it have to do with not having F or G formatted, or maybe RAID settings?? ANY help would be very much appreciated!! Thanks in advance...

Solution
Likely you need to download the f2 raid floppy gor the sata controller. During win xp install it will prompt you to press f2 to jnstall additional drivers.

Well thx 4 the response, Psy, but I've tried everything from BIOS changes 2 a slipstreamed XP install disc... I've tried multiple drivers from my sata controller disc(and some I downloaded from the Silicon Image website!) on floppy during install!! I read that if that didn't work, I could slipstream them in to an disc using NLITE, and that didn't work either.. That's whats making me think my motherboard BIOS will never recognize those drives! What kind of MOBO upgrade could I get 4 my Dell Dimension 2350 if I need 1? Any more help from any1 would b greatly appreciated!!
