How much of a performance loss will there be without the video drivers?

I have a new MSI R9 270x and for some reason it's rejecting the video drivers but accepting the rest. So exactly how much performance will I lose without the video drivers if I try to game on it?

How noticeable? Like half the frame rate I would usually get noticeable or like 10% loss? Because I'm fine with the 10% if I can't figure out how to make the thing accept the drivers.

No, I haven't tried the old drivers. I planned on trying that as soon as it got back from newegg as they denied my RMA. And no I didn't switch from an Nvidia.

I mean when I attempt to install the drivers the screen goes a greenish black color and becomes unresponsive to the point I have to turn off my computer and none of the changes save. I got the drivers from AMD's site and the drivers worked fine for 6 days at which point it just randomly stopped working.

Try out Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall your drivers.
http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/display_driver_uninstaller_download.html
I have always used this and had no problems.

Make sure you have Windows updated.
Redownload the 14.4 drivers and reinstall. When it asks you what to install, choose custom and install the drivers but you can leave out the extra such as SATA, AHCI etc..
You shouldn't need to use the drivers that are on the CD. Only test it if the 14.4 drivers still don't work.

Also download MSI afterburner to monitor the temps. If it is higher than room temperature at idle then return the card for another.

Okay, I just hope the drivers on the disk will work, I'll try that as soon as I get it back. Hopefully if those do work I can just upgrade them to the newest drivers.

I already tried uninstalling the drivers, I'll do it again as soon as I can, but as far as the rest of the driver they installed perfectly it's only when it got to the video drivers that this happened. And that was after the drivers had worked perfectly for almost a week.

I would not trust anyone that remotely controls my pc even if they prove they are certified and certainly not for a price.

Sounds like something else is wrong bad card? If you had the new drivers installed and the card stopped working thats the card. Possible the drivers wont install because the card is bad. Why did newegg decline to RMA the card?

They said the serial number was missing, but I didn't remove anything from the card. As for the drivers I think they went through an automatic update and then went wrong. I don't actually know that but I remember it telling me to update and me just clicking "remind me later."

I currently don't have the spare money. And as for why removal of the serial number voids the warranty, although I didn't remove it so I'm not exactly sure why I have to suffer. It may have fallen off at some point in the installation or during shipping, but I didn't remove it myself.

Meaning "without drivers"
